WHO WE ARE
Critical thinkers | Freedom chasers | Data driven
Yurema Teijeiro-Gonzalez
Hi! I am Yurema, I have a PhD in biophysics from King’s College London University and I am currently working as a data scientist in the private sector.
My personal journey to freedom is closely related to health struggles since I was a teenager. I started from an early age suffering from anxiety and severe muscular pain – eventually, they both became chronic. I relied on the conventional health system for many years, yet barely saw any improvement. I knew something was wrong, so I decided to look for an alternative. That was my turning point. So, I did look for a different way, with this simple principle in mind:
‘If you want different results, take different actions’ – Albert Einstein.
The game changer for me came with the indications of a holistic and integrative medicine expert, which boiled down to a simple change of diet! – nothing fancy, just addressing the root cause helped me on various issues that had been building up over the course of time. Since then, I feel much better, and combined with further expertise and a daily routine, my quality of life has significantly improved.
Since then, I have swallowed “the red pill” (of truth and doubt) from Morpheus, as depicted in The Matrix movies. I have now realized how much freedom of action and choice in life matters to me, yet the journey also shifted towards more financial freedom, finances and law.
Morpheus described the pill choice as follows:
‘You take the blue pill… the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill… you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.’
Now the choice is yours – which pill will you take?
Maciek Rokosz
Hi! I am Maciek, I have a PhD in physics from Imperial College London University and I am currently working as a lead data scientist.
In my case, unlike Yurema, my journey to freedom has been fuelled by struggles at school. As a curious, hyperactive, and talkative kid, I was never a good fit for the educational system. I was often told off for asking too many questions, refusing to memorise stuff I thought as illogical, and somehow struggled with grammar and reading. These experiences made me an introverted child and shaped me into the thoughtful person I am today.
In my early twenties, I began to understand why the school had failed me so terribly. I was diagnosed with dyslexia and a mild form of ADHD, which made it clear to me that the traditional education system was not equipped to support students like me. I relearned how to read and discovered self-improvement books. That was a pivot point; once I comprehended the power of choice and self-education, I geared up my arsenal of knowledge.
Even now, it takes me a lot of effort to translate any of my knowledge into action. After years of inactivity, I am determined to break free from this safe-thinking prison and turn ideas and thinking into reality! Hence, the birth of this blog.
